INTERPOL – TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS (debut album)
on December 2, 2012 at 2:20 amINTERPOL DEBUT ALBUM (2002): A POST 9/11 MASTERPIECE NOW AT TENTH ANNIVERSARY
Very dark debut of this New York band, with roots in the post-punk era, their efforts having been compared to Joy Division, Echo & The Bunnymen and Psychedelic Furs, and at the same time inspiration for new british bands like Editors and White Lies.
Turn On The Bright Lights includes the tracks PDA and Roland, already released in Interpol 2000 debut EP Fukd ID No.3 (very rare and sought after), but almost all tracks are potential singles.
They will condolidate their fame with other three relevant albums (Antics, Our Love to Admire, Interpol) released between 2004 and 2010.
At present Interpol are observing a break and working on separate projects: singer/songwriter Paul Banks has recently released his (very good!!) second solo album.
DEBUTOLOGY SCORE: 8/10
